Thomas Whitcomb is a singer/dancer/actor/accompanist originally calling Danville, Indiana his home. He was first introduced to theatre by his mother, who always had a Rodger’s & Hammerstein classic playing on the television. Sparked by his love of these old-classic films, he participated in his first community theatre production when he was 8. And that was only the beginning!
Thomas went on to perform in productions around Central Indiana. Various credits in the Indy area include: Billy Elliot the Musical (Bobdirex), Godspell, The Little Mermaid (Hendricks Civic Theatre), CATS, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Who’s Tommy (Footlite Musicals), Oklahoma!, Grease (Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre). He continued to cultivate his love for his craft by studying with various teachers and studios such as Dance Workshop, Performer’s Edge, The Biz Academy of Musical Theatre, DePauw University, and Plainfield High School’s Drama and Choir Department.
Thomas currently attends Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana where he pursues a degree in Musical Theatre. While finishing up his BFA, he has been working with experienced faculty as well as industry professionals such as Sutton Foster and Emmy Award-winning musical director Michael Rafter. His educational credits include: A Chorus Line, American Idiot, Gypsy, Reals, and Crazy for You. This spring, he will performing in the Ball State Next Generation Cabaret ensemble at The Cabaret in Indianapolis. Through this process, he has gotten to arrange and write music with classmates and faculty.
Thomas has also spent his last few summers performing professionally around the country. He has worked on Hairspray at The Legacy Theatre in Tyrone, Georgia and with RWS Entertainment Group at Holiday World Theme Park. During the COVID Pandemic, he worked with Pickleville Playhouse in Bear Lake, Utah in their production of Finding the Fickle Fortune.
All of these experiences have gotten Thomas ready and excited to leap into the professional world. He hopes to travel the world- performing and spreading theatre wherever he goes!
